This is going to be my new year 'play thing'...
I'm not looking to create masterpieces of photographic art - but merely to challenge myself to photograph the bland and mundane as often as I can and try my best to create something a bit more special and evocative from it.
This is going to be a smoke break, lunchtime stroll or just an iPhone quick grab type of project - Not planned and most certainly not an exhibition of my/our work...
This is for the fun and the challenge of working to stepping up my creativity on the spur of the moment and with zero notice and what could be regarded as pointless subjects. An experiment to see what I can achieve over the year from the dull, boring and most importantly, the totally missed and ignored views of our every day lives.
I'll probably only add three or so a week here on the blog in the '
Absolutely Nothing' gallery (from all and any of my cameras from iPhone to Hasselblad) and individual weekly posts (hopefully). All the images will be added to the
Ginkgo Photo Blog, warts and all - So if you want to have a look at them, look here and you'll see the whole collection - and a bunch of other stuff too.
So - to kick off 2009 with 'Absolutely Nothing' - Here's the first batch...
More after the jump...

Well, there's the first batch - To see more of the work - Have a look at the
Photo Blog or of course our
Flickr account and get involved in our
community.
Feedback, critiques, comments and suggestions always welcomed - may be ignored - but always welcomed ;-)

I just purchased my Iphone 3GS and purchased the bundle (extended warranty and Otterbox case). At first I thought - YUK. You can't see my beautiful Iphone! However, when I read the reviews of some of the cases that allow you to see the Iphone, I noticed they all had shortcomings. Chief among them is the fact that they don't do an effective job of protecting your phone. I've noticted a number of complaints about the holster. Personnally, I've never owned a holter that didn't eventually break at the belt clip, or fall off. I'm not risking dropping my $200 investment! I'l forgo use of the holster and hold my device.

It's so nice to have you do all of the research for us. It makes our decision making so much easier!! Thanks.
