It is surprising to see that you have changed your such high-educational profession for the new career of photography.

I think you'd be very surprised just how many quite academically minded 'professionals' switch to the arts and particularly photography...
Life is far too short to just do what you think you should be doing rather than what your heart tells you that you want to be doing.
Doesn't mean it will necessarily work out. But, if you give it a try at least you won't regret not trying in the future.
