I have to be honest, Firefox hasn't been my favourite browser for some time as it seems to be getting more and more buggy. On OS X at any rate. But, I do like some of the plug-ins, Stumble Upon being right up there to help take away hours of my life that I will never get back. And of course for sites where Safari / Webkit browsers aren't supported (thankfully reducing in number daily.
Seeing the notice that Firefox 3.6 was available I keenly downloaded it in the hope that it would kill some of the really annoying bugs that are in the current version.
It is fair to say that I have not been experiencing any of the bugs that were in the previous version of firefox since installing it. But that is primarily because it just wont OPEN! At all, ever...
And, it looks like there are a hell of a lot of people out there with exactly the same issue. Posts a plenty on the Mozilla forum with answers a none. Lot's of requests for help being met by pure silence and rolling tumble weeds.
So given the browser wars are currently at their height at both the desktop/laptop and mobile levels, what the hell were they thinking? Did they make a quick call to Google to ask if they could borrow a few of their testers before they released it to the wild?
If anyone has any knowledge of how this can be fixed, I'd be very appreciative as we are in the middle of building our new site with the specific aim of being 100% cross platform and cross browser compatible.
Any thoughts?
