"I’m Here" released on Imheremovie.com - Seriously well worth a watch!

This is quite simply a lovely film, weird, but what would you expect from a movie sponsored by Absolut?! Highly recommend watching it...

 

The atmosphere created by the cinematography and the outstanding music is totally compelling. I'm not going to review it for you - Just get clicking, bugger off and watch it! ;-)

Increased capacity at imheremovie.com

Due to enormous interest in watching I’m Here at Imhermovie.com ABSOLUT has decided to increase the capacity from 5 000 to 12 000 viewers a day. Last weekend Imheremovie.com had 230 000 unique visitors, which was far more than expected.

I’m Here released on Imheremovie.com

Now viewers around the world can see I’m Here through an online cinema experience at www.imheremovie.com. Social media functionality makes it possible to watch the film together with facebook friends, and the cinema experience is highly realistic. But hurry on, the cinema only offers 5000 12,000 seats a day.

The only thing I will say that lets it down a little is 'spare parts'?

Firmware Version 1.2.1 incorporates the following improvements and fixes.

• Extends the timing at which the high temperature warning indicator is displayed and the timing of automatic shut down of the camera due to a rise in internal temperature during Live View or EOS Movie functions.
• Optimizes program shift when the ISO setting of the camera is set to AUTO.
• Corrects a misspelling in the French-language menu.
• Corrects a phenomenon in which vertical magenta-colored banding appears in still images taken in movie-shooting mode.(This only occurs when in Manual exposure mode and when the ISO speed is set to “H”. Note that this phenomenon only affects units with Firmware Version 1.2.0)

Pet portraits are dull right? They don't have to be... Think different and use the power that a change in your point off view can achieve.

The images in this post were of a lovely little dog called Roxy whose owner fancied a series of images/portraits of her. They had no idea what they wanted, but they knew for certain that they didn't want the same old stuff you see with so many of these 'specialists' in pet portraits. As we are located just outside Winchester in Hampshire (UK), there isn't a great deal to choose from in the local area.

Those of you who have followed us for a while will know we don't do 'specialisms' simply because it is an incredibly quick and easy way to become stale and dull. Creativity is key to us, whatever our subject.

As a result, we draw on ideas, concepts and approaches to our work, from across the range photography commissions we receive. 

The style of these images were drawn form an advertising shoot we did. The client loves them, we totally enjoyed doing them and they now adorn an entire wall in their barn conversion. The power of a simple change in your point of view can be quite dramatic.

iPad for the UK and European countries delayed until the end of may - Pre orders available form the 10th of May... Bugger!

 
 

As posted on 9to5mac.com...  Apple today released the following statement:

"Although we have delivered more than 500,000 iPads during its first week, demand is far higher than we predicted and will likely continue to exceed our supply over the next several weeks as more people see and touch an iPad™. We have also taken a large number of pre-orders for iPad 3G models for delivery by the end of April.

Faced with this surprisingly strong US demand, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the international launch of iPad by one month, until the end of May. We will announce international pricing and begin taking online pre-orders on Monday, May 10. We know that many international customers waiting to buy an iPad will be disappointed by this news, but we hope they will be pleased to learn the reason—the iPad is a runaway success in the US thus far."

Control what OS X does when you plug in your camera, iPhone or any other media device - No more auto launch of Aperture every time!

Aperture 3 running very slowly?! - A fix that worked for me that will hopefully work for you...

 
 

A little trick I picked up from some pro's who heavily use audio applications like Soundtrack Pro which also seems to have had the side effect of making my machine about 5 times faster and seemed to sort out my Aperture 3 uber slowness that was quite frankly depressing me.

So, here goes...

Start a reboot your machine and, when the screen goes black, press and keep hold of the shift key until you see the light blue screen appears after the grey screen with the Apple logo. It will take about 4-5 minutes and you will see a progress bar for most of it, so make sure you have the time to be stuck to your keyboard.

It will then boot in to Safe Mode. When this has completed, restart the machine without holding down any keys. 

Once you are back up and running, your machine is now completely re-indexed and should run significantly faster. And Aperture 3 will hopefully run a **** of a lot faster.

Worked for me, so hopefully will for you too. 

Apparently heavy video and audio editing users do this once a week as a routine to keep their machines in tip top shape. So given how much Aperture 3 thrashes the hard drive and processor, I should think it is safe to say we, as Aperture 3 users, are hammering our machines to a degree where we should probably be doing the same.

Of course, our photography workshops operating out of Kefalonia site has been live for quite sometime now.
